Reflection Questions:
- I wouldn't say I grew much as a digital artist during this project, I was very focused on the physics part of it. I'd just say I pay more attention to the types of lighting and framing in movies and TV. I especially pay attention to things like the golden rule, rule of thirds, diagonal rule, etc.
- Newton's first law applies to make artificial gravity in space. When you start rotating a settlement in space you need a force to put the object in motion. Since space has no gravity Newton’s first law applies, an object in motion will stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force. So once the settlement is spinning it will keep spinning unless something stops it. Circular Motion is another thing that applies because our space settlement is rotating in a circular motion. Newton’s third law applies to our settlement. For every action there will be an equal and opposite reaction. If we couldn’t get our plants pollinated by the bees we brought then we would have a reaction that's opposite from the plants reproducing which would be death. Unless we could figure out how to hand-pollinate our plants but that would add much more work for the people on the settlement.
- Flexibility was definitely my greatest strength during this project. My group had some troubles with everybody doing their work. So some of us had to be flexible and be prepared to do more work so we could finish our project by the due date.
- I feel like problem solving was an area for growth for me during this project. There were multiple times where we were trying to make a part of our settlement work. And I would have a really hard time thinking and figuring out what we needed to do to fix that part of our plan. I also had a hard time problem solving with my group member that wasn’t pulling their weight. I feel like I didn’t do the best job handling that situation and I think I’ll be able to handle those situations better in future projects.
